Paradox. How did this site get so far? How did it start? It began way back in May 2007, when I began another one of those three month obsessions with Pokemon, I found the first Pokemon fansite I had ever seen before from browsing Google images (seeing as I didn't have much for resources back then). It just all shot off from there. I browsed more and more Pokemon fansites, eventually getting into conversations with the owners. I found out that a lot of these webmasters were my age, and decided to try it out for myself. I opened up a small Pokemon fansite called Pokemon Era in January 2008, hosted on my brother's server, with a domain name. The layouts became good quality pretty fast, after lots of practice. After two months online, we had over 1,000 visitors, which I was pretty proud of at the time.
However, instead of making Pokemon content, which I only had 5 pages of, I was making mostly graphics and tutorials. I soon downloaded the free trial for Photoshop, and I made graphics galore! I remembered my sister had Photoshop, so I asked her if I could have it, and being the awesome sister that she is, she installed it on my computer for me. Obsessing over Photoshop and graphics for a few months, I began to realize that a Pokemon fansite really wasn't the best idea. What I really wanted to make was graphics, so I began to build Paradox in June 2008. I learned new html and php techniques, as well as improved my graphics. Paradox officially opened on August 16, 2008, and recieved a warm welcome. The hits hit 1,000 in the first month, breaking the speed record for PE. Now Paradox continues growing, and will stay that way for a long time to come.
